Durango Garden

The compound has this big 'ol garden. I haven't done any weeding since this infamous summer and so it's like seeing an old friend again. I came in last night at dark with dirty fingers smelling like mint.

In other news, there are large-ish fires in Colorado. We are up with the sun and the sky is orange and hazy. It's no good.

The Garden Summer Premiere

The Garden Summer premiered this past February. I finally got the photos back from the TALENTED MR. SULLIVAN and these are a few first-pass favorites.

Also. I'm in New York City for the month. I've been here a week and it feels like it's been a lifetime. More soon.

Farm Stroll

My sweetest sweet friends Helen and Josh came with me to the farm this weekend. I've been desperately missing Arkansas and had a Garden Summer screening scheduled at the county library.

We had a BIG TIME. We went water skiing, cliff jumping, jet skiing, shot shotguns, did cartwheels, and Josh was bit by a bull mastiff (nothing too serious but quite the event). I didn't tote my camera around much because I was so excited to just be where I was. We took THIS morning stroll and visited some kittens and picked up some chigger bites.

Late Start

The Garden Summer screening went SWIMMINGLY. The theater was enormous and beautiful, all my favorite people came to watch, and the audience erupted with laughter more times than I can count. It amazes me that other people think my movie is funny. What a wonderful feeling it is to make people laugh!

I have a little post-screening fuzziness and am getting a late start this morning. Nothing a kombucha smoothie can't fix. Have a great day!

Garden Summer Screenings

The Garden Summer—MY LABOR OF LOVE—is completed. It's been a long and dusty road. While we work on original music and before I send off to film festivals, there will be four SPRING SCREENINGS!

Because of the great response at the premiere, the film will show again in Charleston on April 16th at the Sotille Theatre. Then again in Conway, Arkanses on May 18th. I'm in the process of booking Washington DC and my hometown, San Diego. STAY TUNED.

The Garden Summer Premiere

I made a movie. In the summer of 2010, I brought four 'suburbanites' to a ranch in the foothills of the Arkansas Ozarks. We grew a big garden, sold at a local farmers market, and ate strictly within a 100-mile radius.  A year and a half and a lot of bleary-eyed, late nights later.... The Garden Summer is completed. This week the movie premiered in Charleston and everyone flew in to see and celebrate. Even my parents and my cute little (big) brother. Giddy-up!
