The Garden Summer Premiere

I made a movie. In the summer of 2010, I brought four 'suburbanites' to a ranch in the foothills of the Arkansas Ozarks. We grew a big garden, sold at a local farmers market, and ate strictly within a 100-mile radius.  A year and a half and a lot of bleary-eyed, late nights later.... The Garden Summer is completed. This week the movie premiered in Charleston and everyone flew in to see and celebrate. Even my parents and my cute little (big) brother. Giddy-up!

  7. I've been following you right along! I live in Fayetteville, lived in Conway (oh, those college days!). The area around your farm is probably both mine and my boyfriend's favorite area of Arkansas. We love Greer's and would go there to take a break from Conway. Miss it constantly. Tremendously jealous that you had the freedom to do something like this.

You should show your film up here in Fayetteville. We have a strong culture of "Keep it Local" with two farmers' markets and oodles of local boutiques. Let me know if you're interested.

Is it going to be available to the wider public? (I'm from the UK).

  11. My family started a garden this year as a project to teach the kids (and ourselves) how to become a little less reliant on the supply chain. I came across your movie yesterday and after reading a little bit about it... I can't wait to see it! Looking forward to a showing in Washington DC area.
