The Fuzzco Show

Helen and Josh are the parents of Fuzzco and some of Ben and my dearest friends. Almost a decade ago I visited their home office for help on a little project and now they are a successful firm of ten.

Saturday night we had a dinner date and took a walk to the NEW Fuzzco building. It's big and dusty and is about to drastically transform. I am disproportionately excited to watch all the work unfold.

Work(ing it)

Uh how great is this shot from this May shoot?! Oh Sully that was fun.

The Workday

Sometimes my job is AWESOME. On THIS particular day, there were bright lights, loud music, colorful lips, jewels, a little bit of dancing and SO MUCH LAUGHING. Oh Sully you're good.

Sailors

Five of the eight of us are Coast Guard fellas. They KNOW HOW TO SAIL. Mostly I try to stay out of their way but on a rare occasion they'll let us laymen crank something or stand at the bow with a buoy. Its great to see them work. It's such a quick game, everyone climbing around—pulling on ropes and shouting jargon. Starboard! Main sail!

But more than that, they're all fun. And relaxed. Maybe it's the water. Honestly I wouldn't mind joining this rum-drinking-sunburned-boat-club.

Art on Wheels

Friday night was a grand success. The art went up, the lights went down, and folks bid their hearts out. The attendance was off the charts and it looks like Art on Wheels raised $12,000 for Sidewalk Chalk! YES Ben's bike is a show-stopping watermelon pink. Thank you Clementine.

It's a fantastic thing to have an expansive group of friends that you can count on to show up, get enthusiastic, and support your cause. Which brings me to my next point: The Garden Summer screens tonight! Wish us luck!

Brunswick to Baja !

This summer, Ben is riding his bicycle across the country for Sidewalk Chalk with his friend Jason. He's calling it BRUNSWICK TO BAJA. And TONIGHT he is hosting a big silent auction to raise money. Art on Wheels at the Charleston City Gallery. Come!

Ben has been talking about the silent auction for six months and now today is the day. He's scrambling around with easels and bidding sheets with a nervous smile on his face. Here we go!

Scapes

Ben has a couple of old film cameras that he lugs around and rarely uses. But every once in a while he'll pull one out create grainy magic.

He calls them Scapes. It's hard to make photography into fine art but BY GEORGE I THINK HE'S GOT IT.

Good Paper

I recently paid my first visit to Mac and Murphy, a Charleston paper company down the street. The owners are SO sweet and SO chic (a tricky combination) and the paper is DELICIOUS.

And really there's nothing better than receiving a beautiful card in the mail!

Sideshow Press + The Garden Summer

Oh the kindness of friends! For the big premiere last week, my favorite gals at Stitch designed a film poster. They went above and beyond—hand-cutting linen in the shape of the beet and hand-stitching the posters.

Aren't they BEAUTIFUL!?

Aquarium Soiree

Chefs, sommeliers, and foodies have taken over Charleston. Last night marked opening night of the annual Charleston Wine and Food Festival. The grand party was at the aquarium and all the Charleston greats were in attendance.

It was quite a night!  Though one felt very strange dining on fishes while watching the fishes.
